Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin’ By World
Getting Ahead is a 14 week program, where participants meet twice a week for two and a half hours to examine their own experience living in instability as well as explore issues in the community that impact poverty, such as banking, housing, jobs, and transportation; providing critical information the community can use to take-action to end poverty. Facilitators guide participants through an assessment of their own resources and how to build those resources as part of their move to self-sufficiency and daily stability. Getting Ahead puts concepts, tools, and relationships in the hands of people living in instability to make a difference in their own lives and in the life of their community.
